Dallas Cowboys wide receiver James Washington hasn’t played this year after suffering a foot injury during the preseason. The team signed the veteran wide receiver in the offseason to help offset the loss of Amari Cooper.
The Cowboys traded Cooper to the Cleveland Browns in a salary cap-saving move. Dallas decided to trade away the former No. 1 wide receiver and re-sign Michael Gallup.
While the team has been the in the Odell Beckham Jr. sweepstakes, Washington has worked his way back from the preseason injury.

Is James Washington Playing In Week 14?
Head coach Mike McCarthy told the media that Washington is ready to go and should make his Dallas debut Sunday against the Houston Texans this week.
While he is ready to play, should fantasy players add the veteran receiver to their team?
Should I Pickup And Start Washington For Fantasy Football?
The short answer to this question is no. Washington has never been a meaningful fantasy player in his career. Furthermore, the Dallas passing attack flows through CeeDee Lamb, Dalton Schultz, and Michael Gallup, leaving limited targets for Washington.
More importantly, it is his first game in nearly a year, and the matchup this week isn’t fantasy-friendly.
The Texans have held wide receivers to only 23.3 half-point PPR fantasy points per game this season, the fourth-fewest in the league. They have also given up only five receiving touchdowns to wide receivers, the fewest in the NFL this year.
Instead, fantasy players that need a bye-week replacement receiver should add D.J. Chark. The veteran wide receiver is available in over 75% of ESPN leagues.
Last week Chark stepped up to help Amon-Ra St. Brown in the passing game. The former Jacksonville Jaguar wide receiver played a critical role in Detroit’s win over his former team.
Chark caught five of six targets for 98 receiving yards and scored 12.3 fantasy points against his former team. Furthermore, he nearly had a 50% air yards share and ran a route on 95% of Jared Goff’s dropbacks.
This week the veteran receiver has a superior matchup against the Minnesota Vikings. The NFC North division leaders have given up over 230 receiving yards and 36.5 fantasy points per contest to receivers over the past seven games.
