Arizona Cardinals running back James Conner has been a key player for his team this season, averaging 72.8 rushing yards per game through the first five games of the NFL season.
On Sunday against the Bengals, Conner suffered a knee injury on a 35-yard run during the second quarter of the team's loss. He never returned to the game.
Is this injury real? What is the severity? Will he play in Week 6 against the Los Angeles Rams? Could Conner miss multiple weeks?

James Conner Injury Update for Fantasy Football
There's some bad news for James Conner's fantasy managers: he's going to miss some time and not just this week's game against the Los Angeles Rams. Conner has been placed on IR and will miss at least four games.
It's not clear yet exactly what the knee injury that Conner suffered was. It wasn't a torn ACL because that's something that would have likely been announced already. Conner is likely to return at some point this season.
The problem is that it's not clear exactly how long he'll be out. If it's just the four weeks that he's on IR, that's one thing. If it's longer, his fantasy value is negatively impacted even more. Keep an eye on any future updates as we get closer to Conner's return.
James Conner Fantasy Football Outlook
Once he's back in the fold, Conner should regain the bulk of the backfield work for the Cardinals. He's their best running back and is a solid fantasy RB2 while healthy. He's worth holding onto in all formats.
In the meantime, Emari Demercado took over the backfield with Conner out. He had 10 carries for 45 yards and a touchdown and also caught a 12-yard pass. Demercado is worth adding with Conner sidelined, but he doesn't have the same high floor that Conner does. That's because Keaontay Ingram should get touches as well, assuming he returns from the neck injury that's kept him out the last two games.
