Arizona Cardinals running back James Conner (ankle) has been a Jekyll and Hyde player to have for fantasy managers this year. He's a solid bet to score double-digit fantasy points until he puts up stinkers of performances like he did last week. In Week 6, the former Steeler had his second-worst game of the season.
Conner rushed seven times for only 24 yards and caught four passes for just 22 yards, failing to score a touchdown and losing a fumble in the process. It was a poor game script for him, as his team's opponent, the Green Bay Packers, ended up blowing out the Cardinals, 34-13.
After the fumble, Conner was sidelined with an ankle issue and did not return. So, is James Conner hurt or healthy, and what is his outlook for Week 7 for fantasy football?

James Conner Injury Update for Fantasy Football
While Conner's not listed on the injury report, his ankles were taped by Cardinals' staff after he exited Sunday's contest. It's unlikely that he would have been pulled from the game where he wasn't suffering some kind of issue. However, the fact that an injury wasn't officially announced seems to imply that it's a minor injury.

As it stands, he's not in danger of missing time, but he could be dealing with pain, tightness, or some other issue that wouldn't be listed on the injury report and end up having a reduced workload. Running backs that are 29 or older have much more trouble staying healthy after accruing a career's worth of damage to the body.
Fantasy managers should monitor his status throughout the week to see if he's able to log full practices.
James Conner Fantasy Football Outlook for Week 7
If Conner does play next week, he's worth starting. He's firmly in RB2 territory and is currently the RB13 overall in full-PPR. There's not much reason to bench him yet. He's finished inside the top 20 fantasy running backs in PPR scoring each of the last three years despite never playing a full 17-game season.

His best traits are his shiftiness and tackle-avoidance skills, and those appear to be as sharp as ever. Arizona plays the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 7, and that game should be more competitive, as the Chargers like to run the ball and control time of possession heavily, leading to lower scoring outputs, which favor running back production.
