Dorian Thompson-Robinson Injury Update

Before discussing who will start at quarterback for the Browns, we have to address the fact that Dorian Thompson-Robinson, who took over the No. 2 role before the game, exited Sunday with a finger injury.

Jameis Winston, who was the team's emergency third quarterback on Sunday, replaced DTR after he left the game.

The team is still waiting on more information after Thompson-Robinson's injury. We'll know more ahead of practice on Wednesday when we see if DTR is limited or not, but it sounds like the Browns are optimistic.

Is Jameis Winston or Dorian Thompson-Robinson the Starting Quarterback for the Browns?

Things are always a bit fluid in a situation like this, but the fact that Dorian Thompson-Robinson had just taken over the No. 2 job suggests that the Browns are relatively high on him.

But Thompson-Robinson struggled before the finger injury. He was 11-for-24 for 82 yards and two picks. It was a rough showing.

Winston was 5-for-11 for 67 yards and a touchdown in his time on the field.

Week 8's starter might be Winston because of the DTR finger injury, but that wouldn't necessarily mean that Winston would start the rest of the season. The Browns seem intent on letting Thompson-Robinson get a shot as the QB1.

But that doesn't mean he'll keep the job. DTR has really struggled in his limited NFL action and if that doesn't change, the team might be forced to go with Winston.

Basically, it's all a mystery right now. It wouldn't be a surprise at all to see both players start games over the remainder of the 2024 NFL season.
