Jalin Hyatt Injury Update for Fantasy Football
The New York Giants suffered an embarrassing loss to the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, falling 49-17. The game also featured another loss for the team: wide receiver Jalin Hyatt, who suffered a concussion. It happened on the only target he saw, a pass that ended up being intercepted.
Concussions are always tricky, but the vast majority of players to suffer one this season have been held out of the team's next game. For the Giants and Hyatt, that would mean at minimum the rookie out of Tennessee will be out on Sunday when the team faces the Washington Commanders.
He could progress through the concussion protocol quickly, but it's safe to assume that he won't be on the field this week. We won't know until later in the week if anything about that outlook changes.
Jalin Hyatt Fantasy Football Outlook
Even if Hyatt was in the lineup this week, he's struggled to make an impact as a rookie. He has two games with 75 or more receiving yards, but those performances happened because he made a couple big catches. He only has one game with more than two receptions, grabbing three balls for 21 yards against the Bills.
In fact, Hyatt has been held without a catch five times this year. While the rookie has flashed promise at times, his lack of a clear role on this team puts him outside the fantasy picture.
His expected absence this week also doesn't really open up many additional opportunities for anyone else. Maybe there's an extra target or two for Sterling Shepard or Isaiah Hodgins, but that won't really impact much.
