Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts is having an MVP-level 2022 season. The former Oklahoma star is the QB1 for the year, averaging 26.4 fantasy points per game.
The superstar quarterback has been arguably the most valuable fantasy player this season. Despite all the offseason hype from the fantasy industry, Hurts had an average draft position outside the top five quarterbacks.
However, fantasy players might be without the fantasy superstar for the rest of the year.

Is Jalen Hurts Healthy Or Injured?
Earlier today, fantasy players had a heart attack with the rumor going around that Hurts suffered a broken collarbone. Instead, the MVP candidate only has a sprained throwing shoulder. However, his status for this week’s matchup against the Dallas Cowboys is in doubt.
Hurts finished the matchup against the Chicago Bears despite the injury. He completed seven of 10 pass attempts for 110 yards to go along with four rushing attempts for 11 yards and a touchdown after getting hurt.
While he is one of the toughest players in the NFL, fantasy players should expect Hurts to miss this week’s game. The Eagles only need to win one of their final three games to secure the No. 1 seed in the NFC playoffs. Therefore, they have no reason to risk Hurts further hurting his shoulder. Gardner Minshew will start if Hurts is out.
Should I Add Gardner Minshew Off The Waiver Wire?
Philadelphia might decide to sit their franchise quarterback until the playoffs. After facing the Cowboys this week, the Eagles have matchups against the New Orleans Saints and New York Giants to close out the regular season.
Even if they lose to the Cowboys this week, they should beat the Saints at home with Minshew under center. Therefore, fantasy players should act as if Hurts won’t play in Week 16 or 17.
The good news for fantasy players is that Minshew is a capable replacement for the Eagles and fantasy players. While A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith, and Dallas Goedert would love to play with Hurts, Minshew has the talent to keep all three weekly fantasy starters.
Furthermore, Minshew is a capable starting quarterback for fantasy players. Last year he started the Week 13 matchup against the New York Jets for an injured Hurts. Minshew completed 80% of his passes for 242 yards and two touchdowns, scoring 18.8 fantasy points in the win.
The former Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback has started 25 games in his career, averaging 1.6 passing touchdowns and 16.9 fantasy points per contest. Fantasy players can feel confident starting Minshew during the fantasy playoffs.
