San Francisco 49ers kicker Jake Moody has been a steady fantasy contributor this season, hitting 13 of 14 field goals before missing the last three games with an ankle injury.
Moody’s reliable leg was a big part of the 49ers' success through the first half of the season, as the team’s high-powered offense often put him in scoring range.
The 49ers are playing the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 10, should we expect Moody to play?

Will Jake Moody Start for the 49ers When He Returns?
With San Francisco’s offense led by big-play threats like Christian McCaffrey, Deebo Samuel Sr., and George Kittle, the points come fast and often, making the kicker position especially valuable in fantasy. For managers lucky enough to have him rostered, Moody’s injury has been a tough break.
#49ers anticipated participation today:

Drafted in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft, Moody came into the league with high expectations. It’s rare to see a kicker taken so early, but the 49ers clearly saw something special, and he didn’t disappoint as a rookie. Last season, he connected on 21 of 25 field goals and knocked down 60 extra points, showing he could handle the pressure and volume of a high-scoring offense.
Moody's leg strength and accuracy have made him one of the more reliable kickers in fantasy, and his draft pedigree suggests the 49ers are invested in him long-term.
Jake Moody Fantasy Football Outlook
While Moody’s been sidelined, the 49ers brought in kicker Anders Carlson to handle kicking duties, but he was recently released, signaling that the team is preparing for Moody’s return.
Moody has been limited in practice this week as he works his way back from the ankle injury, so his status for Week 10 is still uncertain. It’s possible the team takes a cautious approach, but if he’s able to suit up, he could immediately be one of the top fantasy kickers again.

If Moody does play in Week 10, he’s a must-start option in all formats. The 49ers’ offense is designed to score, and Moody’s consistency makes him a solid bet to rack up points down the stretch.
For fantasy managers, getting him back could be a game-changer, as he has the potential to be a league-winner at the position, especially in close playoff matchups. Keep an eye on the injury reports—if he’s cleared to play, don’t hesitate to lock him into your lineup.
