Dallas Cowboys tight end Jake Ferguson missed one game so far with the knee injury he suffered in the Week 1 matchup with the Cleveland Browns. Ferguson is looking to get back on track after this injury.
Ferguson was a nice safety blanket for fantasy managers in 2023, finishing as the TE9 in PPR after being largely undrafted. He had multiple week-winning boom games, and managers are hoping he can do the same in 2024.
Is Jake Ferguson hurt or healthy? Will Ferguson play in Week 3? Let's break it down.

Jake Ferguson Injury Update for Fantasy Football
Ferguson was officially limited on Wednesday. It's a good sign for his recovery and potential return to play that he practiced. He was doubtful heading into the Saints matchup in Week 2, but the progress is an excellent sign that he has a shot to play in Week 3.
Some good injury news. Jake Ferguson (knee) did everything during open portion of practice. pic.twitter.com/8XAekiGxVR

Though Ferguson was limited, he was a full participant in at least the open portion of practice. This indicates he must be progressing well in his recovery. The injury he suffered was initially feared to be major, but he only suffered a minor MCL sprain, so, logically, he could be close to returning to play.

The play in which he got hurt didn't show anything egregious, which is another good sign. So far, everything's looking great for Ferguson's recovery, and managers can be confident that he's close to returning to full strength and will see the field again soon.
Jake Ferguson Fantasy Football Outlook
Overall, it seems like it's not been a great idea to draft a top-tier tight end -- unless you drafted George Kittle, who's typically inconsistent anyway -- so Ferguson owners should be happy if they didn't invest too high of a pick in him.
He shouldn't be on the bench when he plays. The hope is that he can recreate some of the magic of the 2023 season. The Cowboys' offensive situation has remained mostly the same, with no big new additions to the WR and TE corps, so Ferguson seems likely to have a similar role to last year. Start him when healthy.
