Fantasy footballers know Los Angeles Chargers running back J.K. Dobbins has never met an injury he could not have, and 2025 has been no exception. The only positive about his injuries this year is that they have not been of the season-ending variety.
Dobbins missed four games earlier in the season with a knee injury, and now he is listed as questionable heading into Saturday’s Wild Card game against the Houston Texans. He injured his ankle in Week 18 and his status for the playoffs has been up in the air ever since.
Dobbins rushed for a career-high 905 yards (in only 13 games) with nine touchdowns this year and will be running into a Houston defense that is ranked 11th against the run. That makes him an attractive get in fantasy playoff leagues and DFS contests. So will he suit up on Saturday? Here is the latest:

Is J.K. Dobbins Hurt or Healthy?
Dobbins is still listed as questionable heading into his playoff tilt, but the signs are encouraging that he will make it onto the field and be L.A.’s top tailback on Saturday.
Chargers-Texans Final Injury Report: J.K. Dobbins, Quentin Johnston updates https://t.co/uNY0CdNWoz
— Bolts From The Blue (@BFTB_Chargers) January 9, 2025
Dobbins was able to participate in three straight practice sessions this week, albeit in a limited capacity. Because of his injury history the Chargers are probably just being cautious with their top runner heading into their most important game of the season.
Backup tailback Gus Edwards, who has had his own fair share of injury problems this year and in past years, should also be ready to rumble on Saturday as well. But Dobbins will get the bulk of the backfield touches due to his explosiveness and ability make big plays inside the red zone and between the 20-yard-lines.
Keep monitoring the situation Friday night and Saturday morning as Dobbins has never been trustworthy when it comes to showing up for fantasy managers, but his mid-week practices definitely suggest he should be able to play. You might want to lower your expectations for him slightly due to his ankle injury, though.
