Kansas City Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco impressed in his rookie season for the Super Bowl champs, especially considering he was a seventh-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. The Rutgers alumni became a starter by midseason, even before Clyde Edwards-Helaire was injured.
However, the 24-year-old speedster played banged-up for much of the year and we have his latest injury update.
Is Pacheco healthy or injured and what is his 2023 fantasy football outlook? Let's get into it.

Isiah Pacheco Injury Update For Fantasy Football
Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said that running back Pacheco (hand), who had offseason surgeries to fix a broken bone in his hand and a torn labrum he played most of last season with, is doing well. However, there is no timeline for his return to football activities this early after his surgeries.
The Chiefs will likely take it slow for the 24-year-old, who really impressed in his rookie campaign in 2022 with 170 carries for 830 yards and five touchdowns while adding 13 receptions for 130 yards in 17 regular season games (11 starts). Barring a setback, Pacheco should be good to go for Week 1.
Isiah Pacheco 2023 Fantasy Football Outlook
McKinnon coming back to Kansas City means Pacheco likely won't get much passing game work, but he'll still have plenty of touchdown upside in the red zone in one of the league's best offenses.
Pacheco is coming off the board at the RB23 spot in Underdog's Best Ball ADP, which feels appropriate. His upside will be limited as an early-down back in a committee, but again, he should have a chance to score touchdowns in bunches. If he can command more receiver work, he could have a high-end RB2 ceiling, but we can't count on it.
Ultimately, having some exposure to Pacheco in 2023 fantasy football leagues is likely a good idea. The sophomore should start the season with a large role and a hefty workload.
