Geno Smith is making the most of his second opportunity as an NFL starter. Last season, he clinched his second consecutive Pro Bowl after tallying 323 completions for 3,624 yards and 20 touchdowns. His heads-up play will be integral to the Seattle Seahawks' success in the 2024 NFL season.
Despite the Seahawks adding Sam Howell to their roster, Smith remains the undisputed starting quarterback. However, his recent injury could throw a curve ball into his third consecutive season as Seattle's starter.
But is his condition serious enough for him to miss a few regular-season games? Reports reveal that Seahawks fans have nothing to fear because it's only a minor injury.

Is Geno Smith Healthy or Injured?
ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter tweeted that Smith shouldn't miss any time after assessing his injury. The former West Virginia standout dealt with knee and hip discomfort that forced him to miss two practice sessions during training camp. Worse yet, multiple reports revealed that Smith was limping while walking.
Injury update: Testing on Seahawks QB Geno Smith’s knee and hip injuries did not reveal anything significant and, as one source said, “he shouldn’t miss any time.” https://t.co/pbXqRSpig1

It's news that Seahawks fans would love to hear, especially with a new season fast approaching. The team wants to elevate its status in the NFC after becoming a fringe contender in 2022 and 2023. With Smith at the helm, the team finished with consecutive 9-8 records while making the playoffs once. Smith also took home the 2022 Comeback Player of the Year award after leading the league in completion percentage (69.8) while establishing career highs in passing yards (4,284) and touchdowns (30).
Geno Smith 2024 Fantasy Football Outlook
Earlier in the offseason, speculations about Smith losing the starting role to Sam Howell arose. However, after solid performances at training camp, Smith should remain the Seahawks' QB1 despite missing some schedules due to injury.
While he's not the dual-threat quarterback he once was, Smith's throws dissect defenses. Smith is in for a fantastic fantasy football season, particularly if he maximizes his impressive wide receiver corps of DK Metcalf, Tyler Lockett, and Jaxon Smith-Njigba. Therefore, barring any injury, Smith can be a solid option in Superflex and two-QB leagues.
