Las Vegas tight end Foster Moreau was a fourth-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. The veteran tight end had a quiet college career at LSU, totaling only 52 receptions for 629 receiving yards and six touchdowns during his four years.

The Raiders drafted Moreau to provide depth behind superstar Darren Waller. Unfortunately, that limited Moreau’s impact on the team.

However, the former fourth-round pick has played well when given a chance. He has totaled 63 receptions on 98 targets for 793 receiving yards and five touchdowns over the past two years. Furthermore, Moreau has stepped up when Waller has missed time because of injuries.

Is Foster Moreau A Free Agent In 2023?

The former LSU tight end joins a solid class of free agents this offseason. While Dalton Schultz, Evan Engram, and Mike Gesicki headline the free agent class, Moreau will be a solid addition to any team.

While there haven’t been any reports suggesting the Raiders are determined to re-sign Moreau this offseason, the veteran may be back in Las Vegas next year. Reportedly, the team is willing to trade away Waller, opening the door for a starting role for Moreau with the team in 2023.

Which Team Will Sign Foster Moreau This Offseason?

Regardless of where the veteran tight end plays next year, he will provide that team with solid hands and excellent blocking. Moreau is one of the best run-blocking tight ends in the NFL, and that alone should earn him a solid contract this offseason.

If he doesn’t return to the Raiders this offseason, one potential landing spot is the Miami Dolphins. They aren’t going to re-sign Gesicki after he had a sub-par year in 2022. The Miami offense doesn’t use the tight ends much in the passing game. However, Moreau’s strong run-blocking ability will appeal to the Dolphins.

Another potential landing spot is the Jacksonville Jaguars. Even if they re-sign Engram, he is more of a wide receiver than a traditional in-line tight end. The Jaguars could sign Moreau as their No. 2 tight end and use him on the line of scrimmage as a run-blocking specialist. Adding the Las Vegas tight would allow Engram to play more snaps in the slot or out wide as a mismatch receiver.
