Ezekiel Elliott Injury Update for Fantasy Football
Elliott didn't appear to suffer an injury during Sunday's loss to the Chargers. Nevertheless, he was listed as a limited participant on the Patriots' practice estimation Monday.
Ezekiel Elliott Fantasy Football Outlook
Elliott is trending toward having a much larger role in the Patriots' offense after Rhamondre Stevenson suffered a high-ankle sprain during Week 13. The young running back is expected to miss several weeks, putting Elliott in line to operate as the Patriots' clear-cut No. 1 option out of the backfield.
The veteran has already shown his ability to handle increased touches this season. With the Patriots' passing game struggling over the last few weeks, the team has given more opportunities to both of its running backs. The 28-year-old is averaging 50.7 rushing yards and 26.7 receiving yards per game since Week 14, and that was with Stevenson healthy. Now that the Oklahoma product will miss time, Elliott could handle around 20 touches per game, getting involved as both a runner and receiver.
Ultimately, Elliott ranks as a low-end RB2 in most fantasy football leagues this week versus the Pittsburgh Steelers.
