Ezekiel Elliott's fantasy football owners rejoiced over the resurgence of his fantasy value following Week 7's 17.7-point performance. Dallas's running back has scored three touchdowns over the past two weeks and has posted back-to-back season-highs in fantasy. Elliott left briefly in the second quarter and his Week 8 status is in jeopardy following Sunday's victory over the Detroit Lions.
Elliott took a heavy hit to his right knee with less than three minutes left in the first half. Zeke rebounded from the play and carried the ball seven times in the second half, including a pair of 1-yard rushing touchdowns. Head coach Mike McCarthy labeled Elliott's injury as a knee sprain. He is not practicing Wednesday.

Is Ezekiel Elliott Injured?
Elliott's fantasy owners originally felt a wave of relief after seeing the star running back return for the second half. DeShon Elliott delivered the blow late in the first half. Elliott himself refers to his knee injury as a contusion from the impact of the hit. The RB is optimistic about his chances to play Week 8 against the Chicago Bears.
Elliott was back on the field for Dallas's first drive of the second half. If he was hurt, he certainly didn't show it. The 27-year-old is notorious for his tough demeanor and has only missed one game due to injury in his career. Elliott's knee injury is not related to his PCL injury from a year ago.
Wednesday's absence was expected. Elliott's participation level is something to monitor for the rest of the week. Consider Zeke's status to be in jeopardy if he's unable to participate in practice by Friday.
Ezekiel Elliott Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook
The emergence of Tony Pollard is another concerning factor for Ezekiel Elliott. Pollard was on the field for 41 plays to Elliott's 31 in Week 7. This could be attributed to the sore knee. Elliott's role as the red zone and early-down back remains intact and both Dallas running backs have standalone value.
The Chicago Bears have allowed the most rushing yards in the league this year, so Elliott is a quality option if he's healthy for Week 8.
