Chicago Bears running back D'Onta Foreman was the 89th overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft by the Houston Texans. Foreman had an impressive college career, totaling 431 rushing attempts for 2,774 yards and 20 touchdowns in three years at Texas. He also had 13 receptions for 146 receiving yards in college.
Unfortunately, injuries impacted the former Longhorn's NFL career. Foreman only played 11 games for the Texans because of injuries. After sitting out the 2019 season, the young running back signed with the Tennessee Titans. He played 15 games with the Titans, totaling 155 rushing attempts for 661 yards and three touchdowns.
Last year, Foreman signed a one-year contract with the Carolina Panthers. After the team traded away Christian McCaffrey, the former Longhorn was impressive. He ended the season with 203 rushing attempts for 914 yards and five touchdowns, all career highs.

What Has D'Onta Foreman Accomplish This Season?
Unfortunately, the veteran running back is in a committee situation in Chicago. After the Bears lost David Montgomery in free agency, they signed Foreman and drafted Roschon Johnson to pair with Khalil Herbert.
The former Longhorn was active in Week 1 against the Green Bay Packers, totaling five rushing attempts for 16 yards and two receptions on three targets for eight receiving yards. However, the veteran running back has been a healthy scratch in every other game this season.
Last week, the Bears lost Herbert, Johnson, and Travis Homer to injuries during their matchup against the Washington Commanders. They could have used Foreman in their win over Washington, but the veteran running back was again inactive.
Is D'Onta Foreman A Good Fantasy Football Pickup For Week 6?
Unfortunately, Herbert reportedly will miss multiple weeks with a high ankle sprain. Meanwhile, Johnson has a concussion and must clear the concussion protocol to play in Week 6 against the Minnesota Vikings. Foreman will be the featured running back against the NFC North division rivals if the rookie can’t play.
While Johnson is the best long-term option in Chicago’s backfield, Foreman is a solid waiver wire pickup this week. He could start in Week 6 and have a featured role. Furthermore, the veteran will at least see some action with Herbert out the next several weeks.
