Diontae Johnson Injury Update for Fantasy Football
Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Diontae Johnson (hamstring) said he will play in Week 7 against the Los Angeles Rams after the team's Week 6 bye.
The 27-year-old has missed the last four games on Injured Reserve, so he will be eligible to return. It's too early to take his word on it and fantasy managers don't need to worry about it yet anyway, but it's a good sign for his upcoming availability. Johnson caught three passes for 48 yards in Week 1 before exiting early.
Diontae Johnson Fantasy Football Outlook
When he returns, he'll have at least low-end flex appeal in PPR leagues, but his upside is likely to be capped as a part of one of the worst offenses in the NFL. That said, he has posted decent fantasy outings as a low aDOT slot receiver in the past.
Hopefully, he develops a high fantasy floor in an offense that needs a big spark. Allen Robinson has failed to make a big impact in his absence, so Johnson should quickly regain a high snap share.
The Rams are a top-five team against fantasy wide receivers heading into Week 6, though, so expectations for Johnson when he returns should be cautiously optimistic. It might take a game or two for the veteran to get back in the flow of things.
