New York Giants running back Devin Singletary was off to a nice start to 2024 through the first three weeks of play, steadily improving his overall PPR production before it all came crashing down in Weeks 3 and 4. Singletary was bottled up for most of the day when the Giants played the Cowboys last week.
He averaged just 1.71 yards per carry in the game and only scored 4.80 PPR fantasy points, half of which came on one reception for 14 yards. The Giants offense struggled as a whole that game, with the only bright spot being rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers before he exited the game with a concussion. It was a brutal day for the Giants.
Now, unfortunately, Singletary is listed on the Giants' injury report. Is the Giants lead back currently hurt or healthy? Will he play in Week 5? Let's figure it all out.

Devin Singletary Injury Update for Fantasy Football
The sixth-year tailback is dealing with a groin injury that isn't expected to be a long-term concern. However, it could affect his availability for Week 5. Singletary did not practice in any capacity on Wednesday, and there's no indication yet that he will return to practice this week.
Devin Singletary Looking Iffy for Week 5
Giants HC Brian Daboll said Wednesday that RB Devin Singletary is missing practice because of a groin injury. Dan Duggan of The Athletic added that the RB seems "headed for questionable territory based on Daboll's comments today."... pic.twitter.com/9V61aB3WyT

Giants head coach Brian Daboll didn't elaborate further on any timeline Singletary might be subject to for a return. Fantasy managers should be readying their backup plans in case he can't go. If he doesn't play, rookie Tyrone Tracy Jr. and sophomore Eric Gray will handle the backfield duties. Tracy is the backup right now.
