Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson suffered a major Achilles injury in Week 7 against the Bengals. He was 15-of-17 for 128 yards at the time he exited.
Dorian Thompson-Robinson also served as the No. 2 quarterback before he left the game, and Jameis Winston replaced him.
Is Deshaun Watson out for the season? What are the Browns doing at quarterback now?

Deshaun Watson Injury Update
Deshaun Watson suffered a torn Achilles and will miss the remainder of the 2024 NFL season. He ends the campaign with 1,148 yards in seven starts, an average of just 164.0 passing yards per game. He threw five touchdowns and three interceptions.
Now, his season is over. What's more, his poor 2024 showing combined with this injury might have major implications on his ability to play in the NFL again.

Watson already looked like a shell of his former self. Now, he has to add returning from a devastating injury to the list. Don't be shocked if Sunday's loss was his final NFL start, though the Browns are still on the hook for a lot of money with Watson.
Who Is The Browns Starting Quarterback?
At least for this upcoming week, the Browns will turn to Jameis Winston as Dorian Thompson-Robinson, who took over the No. 2 role before the game, exited Sunday with a finger injury.
Sources: The #Browns plan to start Jameis Winston at QB vs the #Ravens in Week 8, with Deshaun Watson out for the rest of the season.
My understanding is Dorian Thompson-Robinson was Watson’s backup on Sunday strictly from a gameplan standpoint. pic.twitter.com/2jTgSpkxlF

That doesn't mean Winston will be the starter for the rest of the year, but it's worth noting he outplayed DTR in Week 7. Winston was 5-of-11 for 67 yards and a touchdown in his time on the field. Thompson-Robinson struggled before the finger injury. He was 11-of-24 for 82 yards and two interceptions.
Everything is in flux right now. It wouldn't be a surprise at all to see both players start games over the remainder of the 2024 NFL season. Even Bailey Zappe, who the team signed Tuesday, could get a shot at some point as the Browns try to figure something out at quarterback.
