Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson was the 12th overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft by the Houston Texans. Watson had an excellent college career, completing 67.4% of his pass attempts for 10,168 yards and 90 touchdowns in three years at Clemson.
More importantly, he was outstanding as a rookie until a torn ACL ended his season after seven games. The former Clemson star was the QB1 on a points-per-game basis. Watson completed 61.8% of his pass attempts for 1,699 yards and 19 touchdowns before the season-ending injury.
Meanwhile, the star quarterback had several impressive fantasy performances over the next few seasons. He had at least 26 touchdowns and 3,850 passing yards in three consecutive years. Unfortunately, bad blood between him and the Texans combined with off-the-field issues led to Watson playing only six games during the 2021 and 2022 seasons.

What Has Deshaun Watson Accomplished This Season?
The former first-round pick had high expectations heading into his second year with the Browns. Unfortunately, Watson hasn’t lived up to them. He has completed only 61.7% of his pass attempts for 683 yards, four touchdowns, and three interceptions.
However, the veteran quarterback has missed multiple games because of a shoulder injury. Unfortunately, Watson only had five pass attempts in the Week 7 win over the Indianapolis Colts before leaving the game.
Is Deshaun Watson Injured Or Healthy?
The former Clemson star suffered a shoulder injury in the Week 3 win over the Tennessee Titans. Despite being medically cleared by the team, Watson didn’t play in Week 4. Cleveland had their bye in Week 5, and everyone assumed Watson would play against the San Francisco 49ers. However, he missed his second consecutive game with the shoulder injury.
Watson returned last week before leaving the game after taking a hard hit. While he cleared the concussion protocol, head coach Kevin Stefanski kept the veteran out of the game to protect their franchise quarterback. However, the early reports suggest that Watson should play against the Seattle Seahawks.
While the veteran quarterback likely suits up in Week 8, fantasy players should avoid starting him. There are no teams on a bye this week, meaning fantasy players won’t have trouble finding a replacement option on the waiver wire. Despite the appealing matchup against the Seahawks, Watson could continue to struggle or even leave the game early for the second consecutive week.
