New Orleans Saints quarterback Derek Carr took a hit in the third quarter of the Week 10 game against the Minnesota Vikings and was ruled out for the rest of the game. He was not able to return to the game due to a concussion and a shoulder injury.
Jameis Winston stepped in to replace him, but that wasn't enough as the Saints lost 27-19 to the Vikings. They are now 5-5 heading into their bye week and are still the top-placed team in the NFC South.
Is Derek Carr still hurt? Will he play in Week 12 after the Saints' bye week? Let's take a look at his injury update.

Derek Carr Injury Update for Fantasy Football
As per the latest update, Derek Carr is not diagnosed with a shoulder injury, but he is still placed in the concussion protocol. Since the Saints will not play in Week 11, it will allow enough time for the quarterback to get healthy for the next game.
Earlier this season, Carr suffered an AC joint sprain, but despite that, he didn't miss any games. He is as tough as it gets, and given that he has avoided another shoulder injury, the 32-year-old quarterback hopes to be good to go.
The Saints will face the Atlanta Falcons in their next game, and it will be a crucial game for the division title. As a result, Carr is expected to take care of himself during the bye week and hopefully return to help the team win in Week 12.
Derek Carr Fantasy Football Outlook
In 10 games this season, Derek Carr has thrown for 2,231 yards, 10 touchdowns, and four interceptions for a passer rating of 89.8. He has a completion percentage of 65.9 and is averaging 223.1 passing yards per game.
Carr has been able to limit the turnovers, and the Saints' offense has gotten better over the course of the season. After 10 weeks, he has recorded a total of 126.5 points in full PPR scoring leagues and is averaging 12.7 points per game this season.
After the bye week, both Carr and the Saints will look to extend their lead in the NFC South, and we can expect the quarterback to be better if he manages to stay healthy.
