Detroit Lions wide receiver Denzel Mims was recently traded from the New York Jets after a disappointing stint with Gang Green. A fresh start is a good sign for Mims and the Lions' wide receiver room is mediocre outside of Amon-Ra St. Brown, so there is a chance he can turn things around.
However, the young wideout is in the injury headlines during training camp and could be set to miss time. We have his latest update.
Is Mims healthy or injured and what is his 2023 fantasy football outlook? Let's get into it.

Denzel Mims Injury Update For Fantasy Football
Mims (ankle) suffered an ankle injury during training camp practice over the weekend. Mims was seen limping after taking a hard hit from safety Tracy Walker. Until we know more about the injury, Mims should be considered day-to-day, and he could be forced to sit out the team's preseason opener on Aug. 11 against the New York Giants.
It's a bad break for the 25-year-old wideout, as he could use any practice time he can get. We'll see if the former second-round pick can return to action in the coming days.
Denzel Mims 2023 Fantasy Football Outlook
While Mims does have newfound opportunity in the Motor City, there's no reason to consider him in traditional 12-team redraft leagues. He has just 42 receptions for 676 yards and no touchdowns in three years, and it can't be simply chalked up to bad quarterback play during his time in New York.
That said, if Mims gets positive reports out of camp in the near future and begins earning snaps during the regular season, he will be on the waiver wire watchlist as a part of one of the league's best passing offenses. Until then, there's not too much to be optimistic about.
