Buffalo Bills tight end Dawson Knox was the 96th overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. Knox had a quiet college career, totaling 39 receptions for 605 receiving yards in 18 games at Ole Miss. However, the former Rebel had a solid rookie season.
Knox had 28 receptions on 50 targets for 388 receiving yards and two touchdowns in 2019. The young tight end missed four games because of injuries the following season. Yet, he had 24 receptions on 44 targets for 288 receiving yards and three touchdowns that year.
The following year, Knox had a breakout season. The former Rebel had 49 receptions on 71 targets for 587 receiving yards and nine touchdowns, all career highs. Last year, he saw his numbers slightly dip, totaling 48 receptions on 65 targets for 517 receiving yards and six touchdowns.

Is Dawson Knox Injured Or Healthy?
Knox didn’t play in Buffalo’s Week 2 preseason matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers because of a finger injury. However, the former Ole Miss tight end returned to practice on Wednesday. He is on track to play in the Week 1 regular season matchup on Monday Night Football against the New York Jets.
While the former Rebel is on track to start the season opener, should fantasy players consider drafting the veteran tight end?
Should I Draft Dawson Knox At His ADP?
According to the RotoBaller ADP, Knox isn’t getting drafted on average in 12-team leagues and is the 31st tight end off the board. Last year, the former Ole Miss tight end was the TE14, averaging 7.4 half-point PPR fantasy points per game.
While Knox is a talented NFL player, his fantasy value is next to zero. Buffalo traded up in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft to secure Utah tight end Dalton Kincaid. The rookie tight end is a popular sleeper candidate this year. Furthermore, he has already developed a solid connection with Josh Allen.
Fantasy players should avoid drafting Knox this year. The Bills have several talented weapons in the passing game. Therefore, the veteran tight end’s target share and fantasy production will likely decline this year compared to last season.
Instead, fantasy players should consider drafting Kincaid, Sam LaPorta, or Juwan Johnson as a late-round tight end. All three will have a significant role for their team.
