The Rams announced this week that running back Cam Akers will once again be unavailable as the team works to find a trade partner for him. That leaves the Rams backfield with Darrell Henderson and Malcolm Brown. The Rams also have rookie Kyren Williams working his way off the injured reserve.
The view of the backfield got a bit less clear after Henderson missed practice on Wednesday. The veteran running back is widely viewed as the team’s top running back with Akers out of the rotation, so this news caught fantasy managers off guard as the Rams emerge from the bye week.
Is Darrell Henderson healthy or injured? Should I start Kyren Williams in Week 8? Find the answers for your fantasy lineups below.

Is Darrell Henderson Healthy or Injured?
The Cam Akers saga had fantasy managers rostering Darrell Henderson excited at the possibility of getting production from a later-round pick in fantasy drafts. However, Henderson wasn’t spotted at practice on Wednesday, leading to questions about his health heading into Week 8.
As time has gone on, it’s become clear that Henderson was absent from practice due to an illness. Those concerns were alleviated once the running back returned to practice on Thursday.
There is no clarity on how severe the illness is, but the fact that Henderson was back on the field Thursday points to him having his full workload coming out of the bye week.
Should I Start Kyren Williams in Week 8 of Fantasy Football?
The Rams designated Kyren Williams to return in Week 8 after an early season trip to the injured reserve. He may factor into the offense as time goes on, but as of now, the beginning of his career will not be in Week 8.
The rookie is worth rostering in all formats at this point given the ambiguity of the backfield and his potential role as a pass-catching running back. However, he should not be started this week because we already know he isn’t active.
