New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones left his team's Week 4 win over the Chicago Bears with an ankle injury. To make matters worse for the Giants, backup quarterback Tyrod Taylor was also knocked out of the game with a concussion.
In Week 5, the Giants are slated to play the Green Bay Packers in London with a kickoff scheduled for 9:30 AM EST. If neither Jones nor Taylor is cleared to play, the Giants would turn to Davis Webb as their starting quarterback
While Jones has been up-and-down as a fantasy quarterback over his career, going from him to Webb would be a downgrade to the New York offense in Sunday's game. Will Jones be active in Week 5? Let's dive in and take a look.

Daniel Jones Injury Updates for Fantasy Football
Update-Wednesday, October 5: Jones did suit up for practice on Wednesday and will "practice some" according to head coach Brian Daboll.
Daniel Jones Injury News
Jones went down with an ankle injury late in the third quarter and did not return to action. Head coach Brian Daboll told reporters that Jones is dealing with a sprained ankle, but he would not offer much more besides that.
Asked Daboll if Daniel Jones had a sprain with no fractures. He said: "Yeah, no, he's fine in that regard. He's got an ankle. It's sprained."
Asked him if it's a high ankle sprain: "Yeah I'm not gonna get into the specifics of it." #Giants https://t.co/oyYUPgEUGk

Whether it is a high-ankle sprain or just a standard sprain makes a big difference as the former generally knocks players out for several weeks while the latter can usually be played through, depending on the severity. Unfortunately, Coach Daboll is not going to offer much insight into that for us.
Jones is reportedly doing better than he was on Sunday but his status is still a bit murky.
Giants head coach Brian Daboll says "Daniel is feeling a little bit better today. We'll see how it goes." He says "we'll probably work out a few quarterbacks." Whether they sign one will depend how Jones and Tyrod Taylor (in concussion protocol) progress.

Is Daniel Jones Injured or Playing in Week 5?
As noted in the Tweet above, the Giants may work out some quarterbacks ahead of their Week 5 contest. Whether they choose to do so could be a sign of Jones' status on the ankle injury, although Taylor's status also factors into the situation. If they wind up bringing in a free-agent quarterback in the next few days, that could be an indication that Jones will not be ready to take the field in Week 5.
If the Giants decide against making a move, then the outlook for Jones could be a bit brighter, especially if Taylor remains in the league's concussion protocol.
Fantasy managers who are depending on Jones in their starting lineups will want to keep a close eye on his practice status, while also getting a backup quarterback option on the roster in case Jones winds up sitting. Be sure to check back here throughout the week for updates on Jones' ankle.
