Is D'Andre Swift Playing In Week 7 Against the Cowboys?
D'Andre Swift has been battling ankle and shoulder injuries over the last several weeks and has not played since Detroit's Week 3 loss to Minnesota. Despite practicing in limited fashion this week, Swift does not appear ready to suit up and is reportedly not expected to play against the Cowboys in Week 7.
#Lions RB D’Andre Swift (questionable,
ankle/shoulder) is not expected to play Sunday vs. #Cowboys barring surprise, per source. Appears to need another week to fully heal.— Jeremy Fowler (@JFowlerESPN) October 23, 2022
Detroit was hopeful that Swift would be ready to return after last week's bye, but it appears that the former Georgia Bulldog won't be ready until at least Week 8.
Is Jamaal Williams Starting In Week 7 Against the Cowboys?
Jamaal Williams has handled starting RB duties for Detroit since Week 4. Williams has performed more than admirably in D'Andre Swift's absence, tallying 251 rushing yards and four TDs since gaining an expanded role in Week 3 against Minnesota.
With Swift reportedly set to miss Week 7's contest against the Dallas Cowboys, we can expect Williams to maintain his role as Detroit's starting RB in Swift's absence against a Dallas defense that is allowing 4.35 yards per carry to opposing running backs this season.
Should I Start Jamaal Williams or Should I Start Craig Reynolds?
Jamaal Williams has been one of the best handcuff backs in fantasy football this year, and he's once again a rock-solid option in Week 7. Fantasy managers can fire him up with confidence as a strong RB2 this week.
Craig Reynolds has been used as a change-of-pace behind Williams in Swift's absence. While Reynolds has been fine in the role, volume is a legitimate concern, as he's tallied just 12 total touches over Detroit's last two while playing directly behind Williams. He's nothing more than a desperation FLEX play for fantasy managers that have limited options.
