Is D'Andre Swift Playing In Week 2?
Swift was a non-participant in practice on Wednesday and Thursday due to an ankle injury. Although this sparked plenty of concern, good news emerged on Friday when Swift was able to practice in a limited fashion. Although he wasn't a full participant, it was relieving to see him get on the field and draw a questionable tag heading into the weekend.
Now, Ian Rapoport of NFL.com reports that Swift will be active in Week 2 "as long as he wakes up feeling good." However, the team will be selective about his usage, implying he could be on a snap count.
Should I Start D'Andre Swift?
Swift consistently finds himself in the top few tiers of fantasy football running backs, meaning that if he's healthy, he should be started. This remains true in Week 2. Even though Swift might not see his normal workload, he has proven himself as a productive runner and talented receiver, making him a must-start on Sunday.
Fantasy managers should continue to feel confident about penciling Swift into their lineups, even if he doesn't replicate his 175 scrimmage yards and one touchdown from Week 1 against Philadelphia.
Should I Start Jamaal Williams?
With Swift expected to see a decrease in snaps, the opportunity has emerged for Williams to carry a bigger workload in Week 2. If Swift isn't on the field for a certain snap, odds are that Williams will line up in the backfield.
Williams registered 11 carries, 28 rushing yards, and two touchdowns against the Eagles in Week 1. Although his yardage efficiency was subpar, his nose for the end zone cannot go unnoticed. Williams has a chance to increase his yardage while still racking up a touchdown on Sunday.
As a result, fantasy managers looking for help at running back should consider starting Williams. He ranks as an RB3, has a favorable chance to find the end zone, and should see more involvement as a runner and receiver than usual.
