Detroit Lions running back D'Andre Swift has played well this season. The third-year running back has averaged 11.7 touches for 102.7 scrimmage yards and 15.6 half-point PPR fantasy points per game in 2022. Unfortunately, his season has been full of injuries too.
Swift has dealt with an ankle issue since the start of the year. However, he suffered a shoulder injury last week against the Minnesota Vikings and played only 41% of the snaps. Unfortunately, the injury will keep the star running back from playing Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks.
The good news is Detroit has a very good backup running back in Jamaal Williams. He has played well during his time with the Lions, averaging 9.5 half-point PPR fantasy points per game in 16 career games with the franchise.

Is D'Andre Swift Injured Or Playing?
Unfortunately, the third-year running back will miss his first game of the year Sunday against the Seahawks.
Sadly it’s nothing new for fantasy players. Swift has missed 19.4% of the games in his career due to various injuries. However, the star back has averaged 14 half-point PPR fantasy points per game in his career.
Hopefully, you handcuffed Swift with Williams before the start of the season.
Should I Start Jamaal Williams In Week 4?
The veteran running back has played well this season despite the presence of Swift. Williams is the RB8 for the year in half-point PPR scoring, averaging 15.2 fantasy points per game. Furthermore, the former BYU star was the RB19 in half-point PPR scoring over the first two weeks of the year before Swift suffered the shoulder injury.
A massive reason for Williams’ success this year is the touchdown production. The veteran running back typically enters the game when Detroit gets near the goal line. Williams has four rushing touchdowns this season, tied with Nick Chubb for the league lead.
Last year Williams averaged 18 rushing attempts for 74 yards and 4.1 yards per rushing attempt in his two starts. While Swift is a superstar and a massive loss for fantasy teams, Williams is an excellent replacement this week.
Seattle has given up an average of 24.8 half-point PPR fantasy points per game to running backs this season. They have surrendered over 100 rushing yards in every game to opposing running backs, including a season-high 175 rushing yards to the Atlanta Falcons running backs in Week 3. Given the matchup, Williams has top-five upside this week.
