Detroit Lions running back D'Andre Swift got off to a fast start in 2022, rushing for 144 yards and a touchdown in Week 1 while adding another touchdown through the air in Week 2.
Despite Swift's productive start to the season, he left Week 3's loss to the Minnesota Vikings with a shoulder injury which limited him to just 10 touches.
The shoulder injury leaves fantasy managers wondering about their RB1. Is Swift injured? Will he play in Week 4? Let's take a look.

D'Andre Swift Injury Updates for Fantasy Football
Update: Swift did not practice on Wednesday, September 28 or Thursday, September 29.
Update: (Friday, September 30) Head coach Dan Campbell told reporters that Swift is "probably out" for Week 4.
D'Andre Swift Injury News
Swift came into Week 3 banged up as he was limited in practice with an ankle injury leading up to the game. He wound up playing on just 50.8% of the offensive snaps after participating on 66.7% of the snaps in Week 1.
He then injured his shoulder during the Week 3 loss to Minnesota, an injury which he reportedly played through.
Dan Campbell said D'Andre Swift could miss time with his shoulder injury, might benefit from having time off and healing up for after the bye.

It is not exactly a good sign that his head coach Dan Campbell is already discussing Swift taking some time off to allow the shoulder to heal.
Sitting out until after the Week 6 bye would mean D'Andre Swift misses two games, against the #Seahawks and #Patriots. https://t.co/31BGiqiWui

The bye week does come at an opportune time for Swift as he would only miss two games if he does in fact come back after his team's Week 6 bye.
Is D'Andre Swift Injured or Playing in Week 4?
In reading the tea leaves, it appears extremely unlikely that Swift will suit up for his team's Week 4 matchup against the Seattle Seahawks.
When his coach comes out the day after the game and is already discussing a multi-week absence in the media, it would be a surprise to see Swift out there in Week 4.
Swift's participation, or lack thereof, in Detroit's practices this week will be a good indication of whether he can be expected to take the field but he already missed practice on Wednesday. Be sure to check back here throughout the week as the team's official practice reports become available. After Wednesday's session, Campbell spoke briefly on Swift's status.
Dan Campbell: Swift would have to be significantly better probably to play Sunday. It’d have to be the sky’s open up and … I feel unbelivable
— Dave Birkett (@davebirkett) September 28, 2022
Not exactly a very optimistic report from Coach Campbell.
If Swift were to sit, backup running back Jamaal Williams instantly becomes a top-24 running back in fantasy. It is very unlikely that he is available on waivers but be sure to check out our Waiver Wire rankings to see if any of the top options might have slipped through the cracks. Craig Reynolds and Justin Jackson, in that order, are also on the radar as waiver adds in case Williams gets hurt in his audition as the lead back in Detroit.
