Running back Dalvin Cook joined the New York Jets last offseason after being released from the Minnesota Vikings. However, Cook didn't last the entire year with the Jets, as he was released by the team before Week 18.
The veteran then signed with the Baltimore Ravens and was a part of their playoff roster. After the season, though, Cook was a free agent.
So, is Cook still a free agent? Where could he land for the 2024 campaign? Let's dive in.

Is Dalvin Cook a Free Agent?
Cook played for two teams last year (Jets and Ravens) but failed to make a strong impact on either roster. He totaled 67 carries for 214 yards with the Jets while catching 15 passes for 78 yards in 15 regular-season games.
His frustration with a lack of playing time was a reason why he was released by the team late in the year. The 28-year-old eventually went ring chasing and signed with the Ravens. However, he only carried the ball eight times for 23 yards in two playoff games.

Cook showed plenty of signs of slowing down at age 28 last season, and it appears many teams saw that, too. The veteran is still without a team in late June. He is currently a free agent, and the four-time Pro Bowler might not get signed unless an injury happens in training camp.
Which Teams Would be Good Fits for Cook?
Dallas Cowboys
The best landing spot for Cook would be with the Dallas Cowboys. The veteran supposedly showed some interest in signing with the team before agreeing to a deal with Ezekiel Elliott, so there could be some interest down the line for the two sides. While a move likely won't be made now, an injury to Elliott or Rico Dowdle could help the 28-year-old land there.
New York Giants
If any team were to sign the former Pro Bowler right now, it would likely be the New York Giants. After losing Saquon Barkley in free agency, the Giants only replaced him with Devin Singletary. As a result, they will enter the year with Singletary and Eric Gray as their two top running backs. Cook would be a much bigger upgrade over Gray as New York's RB2.
Las Vegas Raiders
The Las Vegas Raiders running back room is in a very interesting spot in 2024. Zamir White will likely lead the backfield this season, but they could use an experienced backup behind him. After losing Josh Jacobs in the offseason, the team only added Alexander Mattison in free agency and drafted Dylan Laube in the sixth round of the draft. So, Cook could see some playing time right away if the Raiders were to sign him.
