The Seattle Seahawks have been one of the league's most surprising teams in 2022. With quarterback Geno Smith having the best season of his career and rookie running back Kenneth Walker III emerging as a star, Seattle's offense has provided fantasy managers with quite a few fantasy points.
Unfortunately, the team's number one wideout, D.K. Metcalf, suffered a knee injury last Sunday. Whether or not he plays will have a significant ripple effect on the contributions of other members of the squad.
Is Metcalf in line to play through his ailment this week? Should fantasy managers consider picking up and starting his teammate and fellow WR Marquise Goodwin? Keep reading for updates on both Metcalf and Goodwin.

Is D.K. Metcalf Playing In Week 8 Against the Giants?
D.K. Metcalf suffered a patellar tendon injury last week that led to him being carted to the locker room. Although the injury will not require surgery, it was significant enough to prevent him from practicing at all this week. Metcalf is officially listed as questionable for this Sunday's game against the Giants.

However, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported on Friday that Metcalf is unlikely to play, which makes sense given his absence from practice this week.
Is Marquise Goodwin Starting In Week 8 Against the Giants?
With Metcalf unlikely to suit up on Sunday, the Seahawks will look to Tyler Lockett and Marquise Goodwin as their top two options at wide receiver. The pair will be joined by second-year wideout Dee Eskridge and rookie WR Dareke Young.
Goodwin finished as the WR6 in PPR formats last week with four catches for 67 yards and two touchdowns. He will look to build off that performance this week with Metcalf set to be inactive.

Should I Start D.K. Metcalf or Marquise Goodwin This Week?
With Metcalf unlikely to play, you should not plan on him being in your starting lineup this week. You will need to explore other options on Sunday.
Goodwin could be such an option, but preferably there would be someone else available. A large chunk of Goodwin's fantasy points last week came via his touchdowns, and he is unlikely to score twice again. Moreover, he will be the second receiver option on a team that is bottom-10 in pass attempts per game. You can do much worse than starting Goodwin, but someone like Romeo Doubs or Wan'Dale Robinson, both of whom are available in more than half of ESPN leagues, would be better.
