D.K. Metcalf Injury Update for Fantasy Football
As per the latest reports, D.K. Metcalf is considered day-to-day. He is trending in the right direction towards playing in Week 8, but much more clarity around his status will be known further into the week.
Given how great the Browns' defense has been this season, the Seahawks need Metcalf back against them to get a positive result. In the five games that he has played so far this season, the Seahawks wideout has recorded 22 receptions for 337 yards and has scored two touchdowns.
He is averaging 67.4 yards per game along with 15.2 yards per reception on an average of 4.4 targets per game. Geno Smith has continued to get better since the start of the season, and it will be interesting to see how Metcalf is utilized next week considering how well Njigba played in his absence.
D.K. Metcalf Fantasy Football Outlook
Metcalf is currently averaging the most yards per target (10.2) that he has ever averaged in his career, and this number could go even higher. The Seahawks have a plethora of weapons to use on offense, which is why there is less pressure on the Ole Miss product to come up big in every game.
Going into Week 8, Metcalf has recorded a total of 45.7 points in full PPR scoring leagues, while averaging 9.1 points per game. There is no denying that going against the Browns in his first game back from injury will be tough for him.
However, if Jaxon Smith-Njigba continues to play well and gets involved in the offense, Metcalf has the potential to make big plays since there will be much less defensive attention on him than usual.
