Is Curtis Samuel Playing In Week 9?
Washington Commanders wide receiver Curtis Samuel suffered a toe injury during last week's loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. He finished the game with four receptions for 22 yards. On the season, Samuel has 35 receptions for 332 yards and two touchdowns. He's become the team's No. 2 wide receiver for much of this season.
But in Week 9, the Commanders will have to make do without Curtis Samuel, as he's officially been ruled out because of his toe injury.
With Curtis Samuel unable to take the field this week, will fantasy managers be able to find added production somewhere else in this Commanders offense?
Should I Start Jahan Dotson for Fantasy Football Week 9
Washington Commanders wide receiver Jahan Dotson hasn't had a very good second season in the NFL. Before last week's game against the Eagles, Dotson hadn't had more than 43 yards in any game this season. In fact, he had one game where he didn't record a catch.
But last week with Samuel sidelined for part of the game, Dotson had his best game of 2023. He was targeted 10 times, catching eight passes for 108 yards and a touchdown.
With Samuel out this week, Howell has a chance to have another strong showing against the New England Patriots. He should be considered a low-end WR3 play this week with upside. This Commanders offense has been throwing the football a lot and Dotson could really benefit from that in Week 9 against New England.
