Is Cooper Kupp Out For The Rest Of The Season?
L.A.'s star wide receiver Cooper Kupp was injured in the Rams' Week 10 game against the Arizona Cardinals. The stud WR was helped off the field after suffering an apparent ankle injury.
Initial reports speculated that Kupp had likely avoided a season-ending injury. Unfortunately, it looks as though Kupp's injury was significant enough to warrant an extended absence. The Rams announced that Kupp would undergo surgery for a high-ankle sprain and placed their most talented offensive player on Injured Reserve.
Kupp's IR designation means that he will miss the Rams' next four games at minimum. While he'll be eligible to return to action in Week 15, with L.A. currently sporting a 3-6 record, we can read between the lines and realize there's a strong chance that the organization decides to shut down their franchise player for the rest of the year.
Should I Start Allen Robinson II In Week 11 Against The Saints?
It is hard to imagine anyone successfully filling Kupp's shoes, as he put together one of the greatest seasons in history last year and currently stands as the overall fantasy WR4 in 2022.
We can expect the Rams to turn to veteran Allen Robinson II as their WR1 in Kupp's absence. Robinson is in his first season with L.A., but has been an alpha receiver at his previous professional stops in Jacksonville and Chicago.
A highly-lauded off-season addition, Robinson has disappointed with the Rams in 2022 and has amassed just 292 receiving yards and two TDs to this point.
Despite his struggles, Robinson has shown signs of life in recent weeks, as he's hauled in 17 catches for 185 yards and a score over L.A.'s last four games.
While Kupp's absence will lead to increased volume for the entire Rams' receiving corps, including Van Jefferson and Ben Skowronek, we can expect Robinson to step into the primary role for Los Angeles. Fantasy managers that drafted him have undoubtedly been frustrated throughout the year, but this might finally be Robinson's time to shine. With the huge volume vacated by Kupp, the veteran is a must-start WR option against the New Orleans Saints in Week 11.
