Arizona Cardinals quarterback Colt McCoy is one of the better backup quarterbacks in the NFL. He has started at least one game in five straight games, including three this season.
The veteran quarterback hasn’t offered fantasy players much this season, averaging only 8.2 fantasy points per game. Furthermore, he has only one passing touchdown this year.
Two weeks ago, the former Texas Longhorn suffered a concussion against the Denver Broncos. He then missed last week’s matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Christmas day.

Is Colt McCoy Playing In Week 17?
Earlier this week, McCoy cleared the concussion protocol and was going to start on Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons. However, the veteran quarterback experienced concussion-like symptoms earlier today.
The Cardinals quickly ruled McCoy out for this week’s game. Veteran David Blough will make his first season of the year against the Falcons.
Should I Pickup And Start David Blough For Fantasy Football?
Blough will be the fourth quarterback to start for Arizona this season. Kyler Murray (knee) is out for the year, while Trace McSorley had an underwhelming performance last week against the Buccaneers.
While the Cardinals have a pair of talented wide receivers, is that enough reason for fantasy players to add Blough off the waiver wire and start him this week? The answer is no. The veteran has thrown 184 pass attempts in his career, averaging only 8.1 fantasy points per game.
Instead, fantasy players should add Mike White off the waiver wire and start him in Week 17. The New York Jets quarterback has missed the past two games with multiple fractured ribs. However, he was cleared earlier this week and will start Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks.
White has started three games this season for Zach Wilson, averaging 317.3 passing yards and 17.7 fantasy points per game. Furthermore, the veteran scored 17.5 or more fantasy points in two of those starts.
More importantly, the former Western Kentucky star has an appealing matchup this week. Seattle has given up 16.8 fantasy points per game to quarterbacks this season, the 11th-most in the NFL.
They have also given up two or more passing scores in five of their past seven games, including two straight contests. Furthermore, quarterbacks have averaged two passing touchdowns and 20.1 fantasy points per game over the past two weeks against the Seahawks.
Fantasy players who need a last-minute waiver-wire replacement at quarterback should add White.
