Cole Kmet Injury Update for Fantasy Football
On Monday, Chicago Bears tight end Cole Kmet surprisingly popped up on the team's injury report, as he did not practice with a knee injury. That was fairly concerning considering the Bears are on a short week.
However, Kmet ended up being a full participant in Tuesday's practice. That's a much better sign for his availability on Thursday night.
With Kmet a full participant at Tuesday's practice, fantasy managers should anticipate having the Chicago tight end on Thursday night against Carolina.
Cole Kmet Fantasy Football Outlook
It looks like Chicago Bears tight end Cole Kmet is going to be good to go for the Bears on Thursday night. What does that suggest about his fantasy impact?
That's where things get slightly less clear. Kmet has been really good recently, including catching a pair of touchdowns against the Saints last week. He had six catches for 55 yards in that one. The previous week he caught 10 passes for 79 yards. However, on Oct. 22, he wasn't targeted despite playing 89% of the team's snaps.
We're still waiting to find out if Justin Fields will be healthy enough to play this week or if Tyson Bagent will start again. Bagent has quarterbacked the last three games for Chicago. That includes two really good Cole Kmet games, but also the game where Kmet wasn't targeted. He's a low-end TE1 regardless of which starts, but there's definitely a lower floor if the Bears end up playing Bagent again this weekend.
