Carolina Panthers running back Chuba Hubbard has been a solid RB2 option in fantasy football during the second half of the 2023 season. The former Oklahoma State Cowboy has scored at least 10.6 half-PPR fantasy points in each of his last five games, finishing no lower than the RB24 during that stretch.
Hubbard is dealing with an injury leading up to Week 17, so his status is certainly worth monitoring. If he can't play, Miles Sanders will re-enter the fantasy radar.
Is Hubbard playing against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday? If he can't play, should you consider starting Sanders? Let's get into it.

Is Chuba Hubbard Playing In Week 17?
Hubbard (hamstring) was a limited participant in practice for the second day in a row due to a hamstring injury. The 24-year-old had 16 carries against the Green Bay Packers in Week 16 after a three-game stretch of at least 22, but his snap share was still well ahead of that of Miles Sanders (toe). It's worth noting Sanders is on the injury report with a toe injury, but he has been a full participant in practice this week.
For now, it's unclear whether Hubbard's injury puts him at risk of sitting out his first game of the year, so we'll likely have to wait until the official game designations are announced on Friday afternoon. If Hubbard can play, he's a solid RB2 option once again and should be started in most leagues.
Should I Start Miles Sanders for Fantasy Football Week 17?
Sanders is worth consideration in fantasy lineups if Hubbard can't play, but he's far from a must-start. The former Philadelphia Eagle is averaging just 3.3 yards per carry this year, and he's attached to one of the worst offenses in the NFL.
In 12-team leagues, he's likely worth avoiding. In leagues for 14 teams or more, Sanders can be utilized as a flex option, but since Jacksonville is a neutral matchup for running backs, he will have a low floor.
