Carolina Panthers running back Chuba Hubbard was the 126th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. Hubbard had a productive college career, totaling 585 rushing attempts for 3,459 yards and 33 touchdowns in three years at Oklahoma State. He also had 53 receptions for 479 receiving yards and three touchdowns in college.
The former Cowboys had a solid rookie season, totaling 172 rushing attempts for 612 yards and five touchdowns. He also had 25 receptions on 37 targets for 174 receiving yards and a touchdown in 17 games. Hubbard played a critical role for the Panthers, filling in for an injured Christian McCaffrey.
However, the former Oklahoma State star had a less impactful 2022 season despite the team trading away the superstar running back. Hubbard had only 95 rushing attempts for 466 yards and two touchdowns. He also had 14 receptions on 17 targets for 171 receiving yards last year.

What Did Chuba Hubbard Accomplish In Week 6?
After the Panthers let D’Onta Foreman leave in free agency during the offseason, they signed Miles Sanders to a significant contract. Therefore, that crushed any chance Hubbard had of a featured role. Yet, the former Oklahoma State star has made an impact this season.
He has split the backfield work with Sanders this year, playing at least 34% of the snaps in each of the first five contests. However, Hubbard had a featured workload against the Miami Dolphins in Week 6 because Sanders missed the game with a shoulder injury.
The former Oklahoma State star had 19 rushing attempts for 88 yards and a touchdown in the loss. He was the RB7 in Week 6, scoring 15.5 half-point PPR fantasy points.
Is Chuba Hubbard A Good Fantasy Football Pickup For Week 7?
Carolina has a bye in Week 7, meaning fantasy players won’t see the veteran running play again until the Week 8 matchup against the Houston Texans. While Sanders likely returns for that game, fantasy players should expect Hubbard to have an increased role. The former Oklahoma State star has been a much better player this season.
Unfortunately, the running back position has been frustrating for fantasy players this year. If you need running back depth and a potential flex or RB2 starter in Week 8, Hubbard is an appealing waiver wire option. The Texans have surrendered 21.5 fantasy points per game to running backs, the eighth-most in the NFL.
