New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave (concussion) suffered his second concussion on a literal hospital pass from quarterback Derek Carr. It was the second time he had his bell majorly rung this season, and unfortunately, he had to be taken to a hospital to begin his recovery process.
He picked up this injury in Week 10. It's a concerning situation, considering that he was first rocked just a few weeks ago when the Saints faced the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 6. Multiple major concussions in the same season are a major problem for NFL players, and the second one can lead to an extended absence.
So will Olave play again in 2024 or is he out for the year?

Is Chris Olave Out For The Season?
At this point, he hasn't been ruled out for the season yet. He was placed on injured reserve, meaning he won't be eligible to return to play until Week 15, when his team will face the Washington Commanders. The team is rightfully being cautious after the scary knockout blow delivered by a Carolina Panthers defender.
This is exactly what Tom Brady was referencing when he talked about good Quarterbacks not putting their receivers in dangerous situations.

Initially, it was expected that he wouldn't play again this year, but Saints interim head coach Darren Rizzi confirmed that Olave is not ruled out until 2025 yet.

There's obviously hope he returns at some point, but with the team poised to miss the playoffs for a second straight year, they may accumulate so many losses that the coaches decide it's in everyone's best interests to shut him down. Only time will tell. Fantasy managers who want to hang on to No. 12 should check back for more updates closer to Week 15.
