New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave had a fantastic rookie season, racking up 1,042 receiving yards while catching passes primarily from Andy Dalton. After the big rookie season flash, he's expected to take the next step and fully cement himself as the Saints' No. 1 wide receiver.
However, the Ohio State product is dealing with an injury this offseason, and we have his latest update.
Is Olave healthy or injured and what is his 2023 fantasy football outlook? Let's get into it.

Chris Olave Injury Update For Fantasy Football
Olave (Achilles) didn't take part in the team's mandatory minicamp practice on Thursday due to a minor Achilles injury. The team isn't very concerned and likely just held Olave out as a precaution. The 22-year-old should be fully ready for the start of training camp at the end of July.
That said, there's nothing to worry about for his 2023 season status.
Chris Olave 2023 Fantasy Football Outlook
With Derek Carr under center, Olave has a high-end WR1 ceiling. Carr has supported big-time fantasy seasons from pass-catching including Michael Crabtree, Amari Cooper, Hunter Renfrow, and Darren Waller. He might not be viewed as an elite quarterback, but he's at least an above-average pure passer and will be an upgrade from Jameis Winston and Andy Dalton.
Michael Thomas (toe) should be ready to go right away for the Saints, but given his age and recent injury history, it's fair to assume he'll take a step back. Olave should be the bonafide No. 1 receiver and lead the team in targets, receptions, and yards.
Olave is being drafted around the WR12-15 slots, so he's clearly expected to at least be a low-end WR1. It's worth noting The Saints have the easiest schedule on paper in the NFL, which could either set up for big scoring weeks or run-heavy game scripts.
