Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Chris Godwin is on a huge tear to start the 2024 season. With 21 catches for 253 yards and three touchdowns through three games, Godwin is averaging over 21 PPR fantasy points per game and is the No. 3 ranked receiver in all of fantasy football.
Godwin's new role as the primary slot receiver in Buccaneers offensive coordinator Liam Coen's new offense has been dynamite for fantasy, as has his chemistry with Bucs QB Baker Mayfield. Godwin has been getting consistently high target volume and has caught 84% of passes coming his way. Godwin's consistency is outstanding.
Unfortunately, he's appeared on the Bucs injury report ahead of Week 4. Is Chris Godwin hurt or healthy? Will he play in Week 4? Let's dive in.

Chris Godwin Injury Update for Fantasy Football
Godwin is working through a neck injury as of Wednesday. There aren't many more details than that, other than that there's been no indication it's serious. It's likely the dreaded veteran's rest day has struck again, with the sole purpose of increasing his fantasy managers' anxiety. He was limited at practice.
INJURY REPORT: Mike Evans (knee), Chris Godwin (neck), Bucky Irving (hamstring) were all limited on Wednesday

Godwin's managers should be prepared for anything, but it seems like he'll be good to go on Sunday when the Buccaneers face the Eagles. As always, fantasy managers will be best served continuing to check for updates, but there's minimal concern for Godwin.
Chris Godwin Fantasy Football Outlook
Godwin is a must-start in all formats. It's rare to find a player with his level of consistency and ceiling. A player who averages 20 PPR fantasy points per game and doesn't score below 15 is fantasy gold.

He's even outshined fellow WR Mike Evans to this point. Evans is supposed to be the best red zone threat on the team, but Godwin has three touchdowns to Evans' two. It's not only possible but looking very likely Godwin outscores Evans in fantasy on the season.
Godwin's slot role is incredibly valuable as he'll consistently be facing softer coverage. Typically the best corners play out wide. Even if he goes into the game with an injury, he should be in your starting lineup.
