Chicago Bears wide receiver Chase Claypool was acquired by the team from the Pittsburgh Steelers just before the last season's trade deadline, but the young skill player failed to make a fantasy football impact due to injuries and pure ineffectiveness.
Claypool flashed big-time upside as a rookie but has been quiet in his NFL career since. Now, he's back in the injury headlines as the Bears begin training camp. We have the latest update.
Is Claypool healthy or injured and what is his 2023 fantasy football outlook? Let's get into it.

Chase Claypool Injury Update For Fantasy Football
Claypool (undisclosed) was placed on the physically unable to perform list on Sunday. The 25-year-old has been in and out of team activities while he's dealing with some unknown issues. However, he was activated from the list on Monday, so he'll be ready to go for Wednesday's practice.
The 25-year-old is heading into his first full season with Chicago and will need to take advantage reps during training camp.
Chase Claypool 2023 Fantasy Football Outlook
In seven games with the Bears last season, Claypool caught just 14 of his 29 targets for 140 yards and rushed once for four yards. He scored zero touchdowns in a Bears uniform. Needless to say, he wasn't viable in fantasy leagues of all shapes and sizes.
Heading into 2023, there's not too much to be excited about either. The team traded for D.J. Moore this offseason and expects Darnell Mooney to be ready for Week 1. Claypool sets up to be the third wide receiver in a run-first offense led by an unproven Justin Fields.
The former Steeler has an ADP of around the WR83 spot – which is likely the appropriate range for him since there's a real chance he won't enter the fantasy radar all year long in traditional 12-team leagues.
