Washington Commanders quarterback Carson Wentz exploded in fantasy football to begin the season but has since cooled off and hasn't been a big name on the fantasy radar. Now, Wentz is dealing with multiple injuries that could take him out of action altogether.
Most fantasy managers in traditional leagues aren't counting on him anyway, but for those who play in two-quarterback or Superflex leagues, his injury status will affect Week 7 start-or-sit decisions.
Bye weeks and injuries will change the fantasy quarterback position each week moving forward, so let's get the latest update on Wentz.

Carson Wentz Injury Update
Wentz (finger) suffered the injury during their game against the Bears on Thursday. The initial estimate was four to six weeks, however, following his surgery, there is optimism it could be on the shorter side of that timeline. The newest report is that the doctor who performed the surgery told the 29-year-old to expect a four-week recovery.
It remains to be seen whether the team will elect to place him on the injured reserve list, but the Commanders will need to turn to Taylor Heinicke in his absence. Rookie Sam Howell could also be in play if the Commanders want to see his upside, but Heinicke is the clear starter for now.
Should I Start Taylor Heinicke In Week 7?
In two-quarterback or Superflex leagues, Heinicke becomes a must-add waiver wire target since QBs are difficult to come by. He'll seemingly be a four-week fill-in, so he has value in those formats. In ultra-deep leagues, Sam Howell can be stashed if you have enough bench slots.
However, Heinicke is not an attractive starter in traditional leagues. The Packers (Heinicke's Week 7 matchup) have been awful on offense, but their defense has allowed the fourth-fewest fantasy points to quarterbacks this season.
He has some sneaky rushing upside, but the Commanders' offense should struggle here, making him a low-end QB2. More favorable matchups are on the horizon, but he's still not going to be viewed as a QB1 anytime soon.
