The Jacksonville Jaguars have drastically improved their wide receiver core over the past two years. Trevor Lawrence spent his rookie season throwing to Marvin Jones Jr., Laviska Shenault Jr., and Laquon Treadwell.
Thankfully the Jaguars wised up last offseason, signing Christian Kirk, Zay Jones, and Evan Engram in free agency. All three played a critical role in the team’s offense last year.
Yet, Jacksonville didn’t stop there. The team acquired Calvin Ridley at the trade deadline last season. However, will he be the Jaguars’ WR1?

What Did The Jaguars Wide Receiver Accomplish Last Year?
Unfortunately, Ridley didn’t play last year because of a suspension. Furthermore, he only played five games in 2021 because of mental health issues. However, the former first-round pick was a superstar in 2020, totaling 90 receptions on 143 targets for 1,374 receiving yards and nine touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Kirk signed a massive contract with the Jaguars last offseason after spending the first four years of his career with the Arizona Cardinals. The former Texas A&M star had a breakout season in 2022, totaling 84 receptions on 133 targets for 1,108 receiving yards and eight touchdowns. Furthermore, Kirk led the team in every receiving category last season.
While the veteran receiver has bounced around the NFL in his career, Jones had a solid 2022 season. He had 82 receptions on 121 targets for 823 receiving yards and five touchdowns. The former Eastern Carolina star set career highs in receptions, targets, and receiving yards last year. More importantly, Jones finished second on the team in every receiving category, only behind Kirk.
Who Will Be The Top Wide Receiver For The Jaguars In 2023?
Despite playing only five games over the past two years, the team and fantasy players are excited to see Ridley on the field. More importantly, head coach Doug Pederson recently said the star wide receiver has shown no signs of rust this offseason.
While Kirk and Jones were productive in 2022, the Jaguars knew they lacked a legit No. 1 wide receiver. Ridley will be the WR1 in Jacksonville this year. He is the only wide receiver on the roster with a top-five finish in his career.
However, fantasy players should feel confident drafting all three wide receivers at their current ADP. According to Underdog Fantasy, Ridley and Kirk are top 50 picks, while Jones is coming off the board outside the top 120.
