Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Brandin Cooks was the 20th overall pick by the New Orleans Saints in the 2014 NFL Draft. The star wide receiver has been traded four times in his NFL career. However, he has been productive for fantasy players regardless of which team he plays for.
Cooks has played for the Saints, New England Patriots, Los Angeles Rams, and Houston Texans before he joined the Cowboys this offseason. The former Oregon State star has at least one year with over 1,000 receiving yards with all four teams. Furthermore, he has six 1,000-yard receiving years in his career.
Unfortunately, the veteran wide receiver had a disappointing 2022 season with the Texans. Cook had only 57 receptions on 93 targets for 699 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Despite having arguably the worst year of his career in 2022, fantasy players had high hopes for the former Oregon State star this season.

What Did Brandin Cooks Accomplish In Week 1?
The veteran wide receiver had a solid Cowboys debut in Week 1. He had only four targets in the game. However, Cooks caught two passes for 22 receiving yards. Both receptions resulted in a first down for Dallas. Furthermore, the former Oregon State star showed he can make the tough catches and hold onto the ball despite taking a hit.
Is Brandin Cooks Playing In Week 2?
Unfortunately, Cooks is dealing with a knee injury. While the former Oregon State star hasn’t practiced this week, owner Jerry Jones says the veteran doesn’t need to practice to play on Sunday. The team is calling him a game-time decision.
The Cowboys have Super Bowl expectations this season. They won’t accomplish those goals without Cooks. Therefore, the former Oregon State star likely won’t play this week.
Dallas is facing the New York Jets in Week 2. However, Aaron Rodgers won’t play after tearing his Achilles. Therefore, the Cowboys should have no trouble handling the Jets after destroying the New York Giants 40-0 in Week 1.
Fantasy players who need a last-minute replacement for Cooks should check the waiver wire for Allen Robinson. The Pittsburgh Steelers will be without Diontae Johnson on Monday against the Cleveland Browns. Robinson led the team in routes run, targets, and receiving yards last week after Johnson left the game with a hamstring injury.
