In the offseason, QB Baker Mayfield signed a one-year, $4 million deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. After stints with the Carolina Panthers and the Los Angeles Rams last season, the 28-year-old quarterback will now replace Tom Brady.
This upcoming season will be critical for Mayfield, as he is on a prove-it deal. If he fails to perform well, he likely won't get another big contract in the NFL.
This piece will discuss whether the new Buccaneers quarterback is worth drafting as a QB2 in Superflex leagues.

Baker Mayfield Likely To Be Named QB1
Although the Tampa Bay Buccaneers haven't confirmed it, various reports indicate that Mayfield will be their starting quarterback next season. It puts Mayfield in a great position for fantasy managers that are interested in him.
Last season, the former Cleveland Browns quarterback didn't play well with the Panthers, but he showed glimpses of greatness once he signed with the Los Angeles Rams. The Bucs can be excited about their future with Mayfield, as he has the potential to become a solid quarterback in the league.
In five games with the Rams last season, he had a passer rating of 86.4 with 850 yards, four touchdowns, and two interceptions. These numbers came without having a good offensive line and weapons around him, which is why Mayfield has the potential to be even better with the Bucs in 2023.
Due to this, Mayfield is an ideal option as a QB2 in Superflex leagues for fantasy managers. The former first-overall pick wants to prove to everyone that he is still a starting quarterback in the NFL. Moreover, the Bucs will give him chances to prove himself, as Kyle Trask might not be ready to be a starting quarterback.
2023 Might Be Baker Mayfield's Last Opportunity
As previously stated, this could be Baker Mayfield's final chance to redeem himself in the NFL. He may no longer be a starting quarterback if he struggles with the Buccaneers.
However, the Oklahoma product has an opportunity to get his career back on track while playing in what is likely the league's weakest division.
