Los Angeles Chargers running back Austin Ekeler has been the top fantasy football performer at the RB position this year. As we head into Week 9, some injury concerns have popped up for Ekeler and his fantasy managers ahead of a Sunday matchup against the Atlanta Falcons.
Ekeler has been an elite fantasy asset this season. He's amassed 727 total yards from scrimmage with eight TDs and 53 receptions across L.A.'s first seven games of the year. Unfortunately, Ekeler popped up on the Chargers' injury report earlier this week.

Austin Ekeler Injury News
As the Chargers come off their bye week, Austin Ekeler surprisingly popped up on the team's injury report Thursday. He was listed as a limited participant with an abdomen issue.
This news came as a shock to Ekeler's fantasy managers, as the star back had displayed no signs of injury leading up to L.A.'s bye week and was presumed healthy after a week of rest.
Is Austin Ekeler Injured or Playing in Week 9?
While Ekeler's surprising presence on Thursday's injury report gave fantasy GMs a good scare, it looks as though he'll be ready to roll as an RB1 in a Week 9 matchup against the Atlanta Falcons. Ekeler logged a full practice on Friday and enters the weekend without an injury designation.
This is terrific news for Ekeler and his fantasy managers. The top dual-threat back can be confidently fired up as an RB1 in Week 9 in a terrific matchup against Atlanta. The Falcons' defensive unit is of the league's worst and currently ranks just 26th in the league in Rush Defense DVOA.
