Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson was the fourth overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. Richardson had a productive college career, completing 54.7% of his pass attempts for 3,105 yards and 24 touchdowns in three years at Florida. He also had 161 rushing attempts for 1,116 yards and 12 touchdowns in college.
Thankfully, the Colts have a No. 1 caliber wide receiver on the roster. Michael Pittman Jr. has played a significant role in the rookie’s success. The former USC star has 16 receptions on 23 targets for 153 receiving yards and a touchdown this season, averaging 14.7 half-point PPR fantasy points per game.
More importantly, Richardson completed 64.9% of pass attempts for 223 yards and a touchdown in Week 1 against the Jacksonville Jaguars. He also had 10 rushing attempts for 40 yards and a touchdown in the game, scoring 20.92 fantasy points.

Is Anthony Richardson Playing In Week 3?
The former Gator had another impressive performance in Week 2 against the Houston Texans. Richardson completed 60% of his passes for 56 yards against the division rivals. The rookie also had three rushing attempts for 35 yards and two touchdowns, scoring 17.74 fantasy points in the win.
Unfortunately, Richardson suffered a concussion on his second rushing touchdown of the contest, knocking him out for the rest of the game. The rookie quarterback did not clear the concussion protocol this week and won’t play Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens.
Should I Pickup And Start Gardner Minshew?
Thankfully, the Colts believe the concussion is only a one-week injury and are optimistic that Richardson will return in Week 4. Minshew will start this week with the rookie quarterback unable to play.
Fantasy players in a superflex league should add the veteran quarterback off the waiver wire. Minshew has a decent matchup this week against the Ravens. Joe Burrow had 222 passing yards, two touchdowns, and 15.4 fantasy points last week against Baltimore. The former sixth-round pick is a solid QB2 option.
However, Minshew isn’t a starting option in 1QB leagues. Fantasy players who need a last-minute quarterback off the waiver wire should add Baker Mayfield.
The veteran is the QB13 this season, averaging 245 passing yards, 1.5 touchdowns, and 17.2 fantasy points per game. He faces the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday night. They have surrendered over 26 fantasy points per game to quarterbacks this season.
