Coming out of Florida, Anthony Richardson was considered one of the most exciting QB prospects in NFL history. After being picked 4th overall by the Colts in the 2023 draft, he made his NFL debut in Week 1 against the Jaguars.
Richardson had his moments, as he showed his incredible potential as a dual-threat QB in the 31-21 loss. However, he exited the game after being hit by Andre Cisco and was replaced by Gardner Minshew for the final four plays where Indianapolis failed to score on the one-yard line.
Is Richardson playing in Week 2 against the Texans? Should you start him in fantasy football? Let's take a look.

Is Anthony Richardson Injured or Healthy?
Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson (ankle, knee) seems fine heading into the game against Houston. HC Shane Steichen told reporters after the game that Richardson "should be alright."
After that, Adam Schefter reported Richardson won’t require any tests on his knee. Steichen reiterated that he could have kept his rookie QB in the game, but pulled him due to "precautionary reasons."

Richardson was sacked four times in the loss and suffered a hit to his ankle and knee, but seems good to go now and will most likely be ready for the game against Houston.
Should I Start Anthony Richardson In Week 2?
Richardson is a solid choice as a starter for Week 1, but don't underestimate the Texans, as they actually have a solid pass defense. Last season, Houston intercepted their opponents passes (16 times) more than they allowed passing touchdowns (15 times).
The main problem with their defense is stopping the run, but they did a good job of stopping QB runs, giving up just 296 QB rushing yards. Jalen Hurts, who had Steichen as his OC last year, had one of his worst rushing games against Houston in 2022. The same could be said for Justin Fields. During the 2023 season opener, Lamar Jackson had a mediocre performance against the Texans' defense.
Richardson does have QB1 upside for Week 2, but don't be surprised if Houston's defense can contain him through the air and on the ground.
