Is Alvin Kamara Hurt Or Healthy?
Saints running back Alvin Kamara has largely underperformed in 2022. Kamara stands as the overall fantasy RB23 in standard scoring formats this season. However, he has looked sharp in recent weeks, as he's now totaled over 100 yards in each of New Orleans' last two games.
Kamara has now missed two consecutive practices, logging DNPs on both Wednesday and Thursday. His absences have been labeled as due to personal reasons, the specifics of which the Saints have not disclosed. The team has also relayed that their star RB is nursing a quad issue.
What's The Fantasy Football Outlook For Alvin Kamara In Week 17?
To put it frankly, 2022 has been a weird season for Kamara. From dealing with off-the-field litigation to struggling in his first season without former head coach Sean Payton, it has been a roller-coaster year for the star back.
From a fantasy perspective, the former Tennessee Volunteer has underwhelmed. Kamara has totaled just four TDs on the year and is on track to post his lowest yardage totals since 2019.
There are murmurs in the Big Easy that a split is imminent between the Saints and Kamara. His puzzling absence from practices this week does nothing to calm those concerns.
Fantasy managers in championship finals this week probably won't get much sleep as they worry about Kamara's Week 17 status. His GMs will need to monitor his practice status on Friday ahead of this week's clash with the Philadelphia Eagles. Those that are relying on Kamara might want to have a contingency plan in place.
