Allen Lazard of the New York Jets has had an up-and-down season. He has showcased his potential with five receiving touchdowns but faces a significant challenge with a recent injury.
Currently, the 28-year-old is dealing with a chest injury that has left him week-to-week. This uncertainty about his health raises questions for fantasy managers as they prepare for the Jets' upcoming game against the Houston Texans.
With the trade for Davante Adams, Lazard's role has shifted to the No. 3 wideout, making his injury even more concerning. Fantasy owners need to stay updated on his status as they navigate their lineups for Week 9.

Is Allen Lazard Injured or Playing in Week 9?
As of now, Lazard is considered week-to-week. Interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich confirmed this status, leaving fantasy owners in a difficult position.
Lazard's lack of participation in practice on Tuesday further complicates the situation, as there is currently no official timetable for his return. Given the short week with a Thursday night game approaching, you should cautiously assume he will be out for Week 9.
Jeff Ulbrich says Jets WR Allen Lazard's chest injury is week to week but doesn't believe it is something that would land him on injured reserve.

While there is always a chance he could make a surprise return, the risk of starting an injured player in your fantasy lineup is high. Additionally, even if he were to play, he would only be considered a strong start if you are in a deep league or facing desperate circumstances.
Mike Williams has filled in during the Iowa State product's absence but struggled to see any targets. Lazard's role as WR3 does not seem to be threatened by Williams.
Allen Lazard Fantasy Football Injury Outlook
Fantasy managers should approach Lazard's situation with caution. His boom-or-bust potential can make him a compelling option when healthy, but the ongoing chest injury significantly impacts his value.
With the Jets' passing game evolving around Adams and Wilson, Lazard's opportunities may be limited even when he returns. For now, planning for the wideout to sit out Week 9 is advisable.

His health will need monitoring in the days leading up to the game, but the uncertainty surrounding his availability makes him more of a hold than a start. If you have Lazard on your roster, consider stashing him for later in the season when he can hopefully regain his health and a more significant role in the offense.
